ICI.fr covers a training exercise held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Caen, where Calvados firefighters learned to protect artworks using Fireguard, our aluminised protective cover developed by Otego. Grégoire Bernand, product manager at Otego, explains how the cover maintains safe temperatures behind the protection during fire exposure, with tests showing artworks remaining in good condition after 30 minutes at over 400°C. The exercise reflects a growing national push to protect cultural heritage following the Notre-Dame fire in 2019. The Louvre and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France are already equipped with Fireguard, with the Musée de Vire and the Cathédrale de Bayeux set to follow.
